Description
This is a full day training on modern Excel. The course starts with a whirlwind guided tour of some of the modern features. The class will self-organise into small teams of 4-6 people for hands-on exercises. Each team will work on a different exercises. Morning exercises (before lunch) are good warm-up exercises. The afternoon exercises are more substantial and challenging. Groups will work to solve the exercises and then present their solutions to the class. Topics include:
- Techniques: tables, pivot tables, named cells, absolute and relative references, structured references, spill functions and the spilled range operator #, arrays
- Functions that everybody knows: SUM, VLOOKUP
- Functions that everybody should know: XLOOKUP, FILTER, TEXT, IFS, SUMIFS,
- Functions to filter and aggregate data: FILTER, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, GROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions
- Text handling functions: TEXT, TEXTBEFORE, TEXTAFTER, TEXTSPLIT, TEXTJOIN, REGEX… functions
- Functions that spill and dynamic arrays: SEQUENCE, UNIQUE,
- Date functions: EOMONTH, EDATE, TODAY, DATE
- Design and best practices golden rules
