Agenda
- Welcome and Introduction
- Review Public Visualisations (group exercise)
- A whirlwind tour of different visual types (short presentation)
- Ten golden rules for effective data visualisation (presentation and class discussion)
- Which is the best chart for a given dataset and situation? (class discussion)
- Useful tips and techniques when designing a chart (short presentation)
- Build a visualisation (group exercise)
- Wrap-up. Conclusions. Useful resources
Attendees in teams of 4 in breakout rooms. Presentations by team spokesperson to full class.
Timings
- 9:00am start, 4:30pm close
- Lunch from 12:30pm to 1:30pm
- Morning: two 15-minute breaks at 10:30am and 11:30am
- Afternoon: two 15-minute breaks at 2:30pm and 3:30pm
