In these exercises we inspect public datasets, some provided by the NHS.

Choose some of the datasets linked from these pages

• general datasets.
• NHS datasets.

Answer the following questions:

• Is the data in tabular format?
• Is the data in tidy format? If not, what needs to be done to reshape as tidy data?
• What is the grain of each table i.e. what does each row represent?
• Is the table designed well?
• If we were the provider of the data how would we improve it so that people can analyse the data more easily?

Optionally, and if time allows, reshape the data into a tabular and tidy format.
