Use Copilot to help with Excel challenges course
You will learn how to use Copilot to help with common Excel challenges: for example, get advice on how to perform an Excel task, understand an Excel spreadsheet, understand how to use an Excel function, write Excel formulas and to diagnose and fix Excel errors.
The choice of the exact AI assistant depends on the attendees’ licenses. If all attendees have the “full fat” M365 Copilot Premium license that allows the use of Copilot with Excel, we will use that. If not, we will use Copilot (web-based) Chat and possibly other AI assistants. The principles are the same regardless of the actual AI assistant used.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, attendees will be able to use Copilot, and other AI assistants, to perform tasks and solve Excel challenges, and work smarter rather than harder with Excel and AI assistants.
Course Content
The course will cover how Copilot, and other AI assistants, can help with several typical Excel challenges, for example:
- perform an Excel task quickly and correctly e.g., write a formula, build a pivot table
- explain in plain English the formulas and functions in an Excel spreadsheet (one you may have inherited, for example);
- write several Excel formulas to build useful calculations and automate tasks;
- explain why an Excel cell contains an error value e.g., #N/A, #NAME?, #NULL!, and fix the formula or problem that caused it.
- review an Excel sheet for best practices and improve the structure and readability of the spreadsheet.

This is a full-day course.
Pre-requisites
It is useful to have a basic familiarity with Excel, for example by attending our Excel Foundation Course.
