Excel Courses
Excel Learning Path
We offer a learning path of three Excel courses:
- the foundation course helps absolute beginners to get started; for others it is a refresher of the basics: navigate Excel, enter data, write formulas, understand references, and an introduction to some useful functions;
- the intermediate course covers looking up data with VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, and summarising data with pivot tables and functions;
- the advanced course covers sophisticated analytical techniques: e.g., goal seek, data tables, dynamic array functions and getting help from AI assistants;
AI and Copilot in Excel
The Use Copilot to help with Excel Challenges course covers the use of Copilot, or another AI assistant if required, to help with everyday Excel tasks.
Specialised Excel Courses
If you would like to focus in on a particular area of Excel, we offer specialised courses:
- the Excel pivot tables course is a deep dive into using pivot tables to summarise and present data in Excel;
- the Excel formulas course covers the most useful Excel functions and how to use them effectively in formulas;
- the building financial models with Excel course covers techniques to build robust financial projections, such as scenario models, sensitivity analysis, and Excel financial functions;
- the Excel best practices course covers how to design and build spreadsheets that are readable and robust.
Excel for Data Analysts
For data analysts, the automate data prep with Power Query in Excel course focuses on importing, cleaning and shaping data in Excel.
Excel Courses for Finance Professionals
Our course list for finance professionals includes several Excel courses, covering Copilot in Excel, automation in Excel, and building financial models.
Key Themes Across Our Excel Courses
Four themes run through all our courses:
- Modern Excel is far more powerful than most people realise: many tasks that were once slow and complex are now quick and straightforward.
- Automation is within reach: we can pretty much avoid manual steps and so save time and cut the risk of mistakes and errors.
- AI assistants work so much better when you understand Excel well: the stronger your skills, the more value you get from tools like Copilot and Claude.
- There is nearly always more than one way to accomplish a task in Excel.
