Use AI with Power BI Course Outline

Who should attend

Anybody with some basic familiarity and experience of using Power BI and who wants to use AI agents to help build the semantic model and reports, and write DAX measures effectively.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will have a broad understanding of how best to use AI to help with Power BI challenges.

Course Content

Use AI agents to help with

• building reports
• building the semantic model
• importing data into Power BI with Power Query
• writing DAX measures

We will tailor the course content based on the AI agents (for example, Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot Chat) and the licenses available to the customer. The modules may include:

• using an external AI (not connected to Power BI) to give advice on reports, semantic models and DAX
• using the Power BI Authoring MCP Server so that an AI agent can connect directly to a Power BI instance to improve the semantic model and reports
• connecting a semantic model directly to Claude to build Claude dashboards

Course Length

1 day (short version) or 2 days (preferred, full version)

Pre-requisites

Basic familiarity with Power BI, for example by having attended the foundation course.
